Our Vitalistic Approach

Chiropractic is the only profession that specifically addresses the nervous system and it’s function – it’s why it can be so effective in the relief of pain, discomfort and nerve damage related symptoms.

Every single cell, tissue, organ and muscle in your body

receives either a direct nerve supply or is under the control of the central nervous system via chemical messengers produced by glands and other cells.

In short, every function within the body is regulated through the nervous system.

What would happen if we interfere with this brain-body connection?

The central nerve system is so important that nature built armour around it, your skull and spinal column. However, even with this inborn protection, your nerve system can experience interference, injury or disturbance through the physical, chemical or mental stresses of everyday life. We call this interference to your nerve system a spinal misalignment or vertebral subluxation complex.

“The role of a chiropractor is to address this interference in all people. Not just because someone has a symptom or condition, but also because the health of the spine & nerve system is a requirement for optimal life”.

If symptoms or conditions do exist this is a sign that your body is reaching the outer limits of its ability to adapt. In essence, it’s a warning sign. This indicates something within your physiology needs to change to bring the body back to within its normal healthy limits. By addressing interference to your spine & nerve system, correcting subluxations and maximising the brain-body connection your body will heal and repair at a greater rate. This applies to children, infants, pregnant mums, athletes and seniors – in short anyone who is pursuing an extraordinary life needs to maintain the integrity of the brain-body connection.

All too often today, most of us are living in a constant state of fight or flight response, (in sympathetic mode) this can take a heavy toll on our body and cause us to be more susceptible to symptoms of ill-health, pain and discomfort.

Our role is to help stop, reverse and prevent this process from being the dominant force in your body and to allow the natural state of balance (rest & digest) to prevail so that your parasympathetic and sympathetic systems are working in harmony with each other and your body is better able to heal and self regulate itself.

“Feeling Positive with Results”

Having treatment has given me a new lease of life, I look forward to my treatment. Everyday I go makes me feel so positive. Martyn and Sarah are so friendly, you just feel at home and they take all ways to have time to answer any questions I might have. I can highly recommend them both! “Nearly a Decade”

I’ve been visiting Walker Spinal Health Centre for nearly a decade and over the years I’ve come to appreciate the holistic benefits of regular chiropractic adjustments. As a health professional myself, I’m a bit fussy about who I entrust my health to and expect high standards. This is exactly what you will get from Martyn and Sarah. Their warm, friendly and professional attitude has ensured my spinal health, with a few adjustments along the way remains discomfort and pain free.

“Free of Discomfort and Pain”

I have had a bad arm for 18 months, having consulted a Doctor, attended Physiotherapy department at the local hospital and finally found Martyn, a chiropractor who within 2 visits has sorted my ‘so called’ tennis elbow.  I never thought it was tennis elbow and Martyn’s expertise has given me an arm free of discomfort and pain and has allowed me to carry out my work of woodcarving without having to wear wrist braces etc.
